Today is going to be a very lazy day; it’s rainy, damp, and just the perfect day for sitting on the couch with a mug of tea and reading. So that’s what I’m going to do (especially since I spent nearly all of yesterday running around!).
Yesterday was great though. My mom and I met up for lunch at a cute little restaurant called The Elbow Room and I had the best grilled chicken sandwich. Ever. I didn’t get a picture of it, but I’ll try to describe it the best I can: A French bread roll with chicken breast, pine nut and basil pesto, aged cheddar cheese, grilled tomatoes, and arugula (all with a side of balsamic salad greens). It was a.m.a.z.i.n.g. After lunch we did some shopping and we stopped in a store called Ten Thousand Villages: I bought some orangic Irish breakfast tea that I’m super excited to try. We also went into a tiny little kitchen store and bought a tea diffuser so I can start buying better quality, loose teas.
Later that night, we stopped at Whole Foods. It was my first time in any Whole Foods so I was absolutely in awe. My mom treated me with some groceries to bring back to VA. She bought me:
-
2 types of Whole Foods brand trail mix
-
A few Clif Bars and Luna bars
-
Peanut butter granola!
-
Amy’s Butternut squash soup/Southwestern veggie soup
-
Honey vanilla white chai tea
-
Apple cinnamon spice tea
We also got some Greek yogurt and fruit for a “dinner snack” before we headed off for our evening adventures. It was great to experience Whole Foods but it really left me wishing that I didn’t have to grocery shop at Walmart!
Breakfast
I was starving when I woke up this morning but I could not decide what I wanted. I wanted something sweet, but not cereal. I wanted something carb-y, but not bread or an English muffin. So I settled on a Chocolate almond fudge Clif bar, a banana, and a glass of skim milk. Thankfully it hit the spot. I don’t like to just randomly snack on Clif bars but it was perfect for this morning.
Oh my goodness, you’ve never been to Whole Foods before?!?!?!?! Wow, you REALLY must have been in awe then – I’m in awe every time I go to Whole Foods (and I go twice each week! haha). That’s great :0)
Enjoy your relaxing Saturday!
